Shareen is exactly the type of writer and professional I needed to put together a comprehensive process map and procedure manual. PLUS she came with the bonus skill of managing me and my time to make sure we kept to the timeline and product plan.

I appreciated her careful planning even though I like to jump into action and start crossing things off the list. I let her expertise lead and am so glad for it. Shareen’s support to fully visualize the end product and build a plan to create it took forever but expedited the final product exactly like all the professional literature says it would. Knowing that the paper plan was going to be the backbone of the website as well made a lot of decisions easy to make because we planned it all ahead of time.

I had the pleasure of benefiting from Shari’s outstanding writing for a couple of years, most recently in 2016. As an employee with the St. Johns Hospital family Medicine Residency Program for 19 years, Shari developed several manuals, handbooks and tip sheets designed to ensure all staff can seamlessly support other jobs with little hands on training. Shari developed, formatted, edited and published all documents on her own which even in her absence, are continuing to be used here at Phalen Village Clinic. Because of her detail oriented mindset, a new Administrator was able to take over Shari’s job upon her departure and be able to effectively navigate her role following the published manuals that Shari created. Had it not been for her, I would not be able to effectively do my job with the little-to-no training I received on the job.

Shari’s manuals and instruction handbooks are used on a daily basis. The formatting is sleek, the instructions are clear and detailed and they even have clickable links. For example, Shari created an entire medical rotation manual with links to every type of possible rotation our medical residents are required to do, including electives. This 188-page manual includes schedules, goals and objectives, contact information and instructions for staff. It is extremely thorough, grammatically perfect and clear and concise. She also created our 65 page Program Administrators Handbook which the program manager and our staff use on a daily basis that has all Administrator tasks in detail with clickable links to needed documents, file path instructions, contact information and deadlines all worked in. When a new Administrator was hired here, she looked through Shari’s manual and said “wow, this is fantastic. I am so glad we have this. This is our new bible”. It truly is amazing what Shari is capable of and even in her absence from UMP we continuously praise her for the hard work she put in because without her writing talent, we would literally have no idea how to do our jobs!

On a side note, Shari is a fantastic creative writer. Our entire clinic is familiar with her work and her published novels in fantasy and science fiction. I would recommend anyone looking for an outstanding technical writer to call her immediately and benefit from her decades of writing experience and journalism degree. You will not be disappointed in the high quality work she is capable of and prides herself on. Outside of creative writing and technical writing, Shari is a loyal and dedicated employee overall. She prides herself on being particular about her quality of work and providing an outstanding deliverable. Not to mention, Shari is pretty fun to work with!
